Volvo sells stake in Deutz engines

AB Volvo group said the company had sold its 25 per cent stake in German diesel engine maker Deutz AG. Volvo said in a statement that the proceeds from the sale, which was carried out through a book building process, amounted to 1.9 billion Swedish crowns ($225 million) and would generate a capital gain of about 350 million crowns. The capital gain from the divestment of shares in Deutz would be booked in the third quarter, according to Volvo.

The Cargotec group company Hiab has secured an order for over 600 HIAB loader cranes from Tata Motors. The order follows the successful delivery of over 1,200 HIAB loader cranes to Tata Motors in 2016 and it has been booked into Cargotec?s 2017 second quarter order intake. Bharat Forge reports strong results

Bharat Forge reported in-line results for the third quarter of FY2013-14 aided by strong growth in exports. The performance appears strong on an year-on-year (yoy) basis mainly due to the base effect. On a sequential basis though, the results are broadly stable and are driven by exports (revenue up by 3.5 per cent qoq) even as the domestic operations (revenues down by 13.8 per cent qoq) continue to remain under pressure.

Manitowoc posts double-digit growth in Q3

Power equipment industry shrinks 10.5% in 3rd quarter

In the third quarter of 2012-13, the power sector has deepened into gloom further as electrical equipment industry shrank 10.5 per cent. Turnover contracted 10 per cent, declining for the third consecutive quarter, and falling in double digits for the first time. The Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers' Association (IEEMA) said almost all sectors declined, particularly power cables and energy meters business.
